An injured worker is entitled to medical benefits paid by the employer or their insurance company. The medical treatment is obtained through a Medical Provider Network compromised of doctors, specialists, and therapy facilities. Medical treatment can include doctor visits, physical therapy, medications, surgery, and other treatment needed to cure or relieve from the effects of the work injury.
There are some limits to the amount of treatment provided, such as for physical therapy or chiropractic treatment. Most treatment will be provided for as long as needed to recover from the work injury. However, the insurance company must authorize all medical treatment before it is received.
